2009 AYS Track

Arlington Youth Sports will be registering for track during practices throughout March.  Your child's registration must be approved by SYS and money received before he or she can step on the track.   To sign your child up you will need a COPY(not an original) of your childs birth certificate for us to turn in to SYS. If you ran track last year you will not need this as SYS keeps them on file.

There are boundaries for every area in SYS. If you are not sure which area you are supposed to be running with you may go to www.shelbyyouthsports.org and click on member areas, then click on Area Boundaries Map to find out.

Basically Arlington's western boundary is Canada Road from US Hwy 64 north to Hwy 70, then you proceed east along Hwy 70 to Evergreen, then back north again to the Loosahatchie River. The Loosahatchie River is our northern border, but everything north of the Loosahatchie and east of Austin Peay Hwy(Hwy 14) is basically an open area, which means you may run track at any area you wish. Our southern boundary is US Highway 64. We have no eastern boundary, so we can have children from Galloway, and Oakland participate in the track, cheer and football programs.

Fees will be based upon if your child has a last years warm up suit or not.  If so, they will not be required to purchase a new one.  If you have a friend who has the blue warmup pants and hoodie from last yr and you can use it, feel free to work out a deal with them.  Warm Ups will be the same as last yr.

We will have a limited # of uniforms at each sign up and the 1st that comes in with payment will go home with uniforms that day.  We will have to order the rest for the participants.

Once you put the childs size down on the form it will be ordered and that is what the child will get to wear.

Practices will begin on Feb 27th and will begin at 5:30 and will go until dark. We will practice 2 to 3 times per week up until the first meet. We will then practice according to availability of the track itself. The complete schedule is being worked out between AYS and Arlington High School and as soon as we have it worked out we will post it on the website. Once daylight savings arrives we will practice about an hour and a half per practice, until then we will go until dark as we will not have access to the lights at the school.

As we get closer to the start of the season we will add/update the website, so please check it daily. Cancelled practices due to inclement weather will be posted on this page, changes to the practice/meet schedule will be posted here also. We will also have an AYS information line. That number is 515-7999.

If you have any questions please e-mail Clint Daniels at arlingtontrack@gmail.com

Thanks and see you soon!!
